Adam Steele

Adam took up electric bass following a childhood surrounded by music. Progressing swiftly, he went on to study music performance and production at Paul McCartney’s LIPA Sixth Form College in Liverpool.

During his time at LIPA, Adam made his mark on the local music scene as a choice sideman and found himself on the bill for BBC introducing at the Cavern, on BBC Radio and on streaming services. Looking for a new challenge, he then attended Trinity Laban Conservatoire in Greenwich to study jazz upright / electric bass and composition, during which time he also expanded his skillset into areas like orchestral and choral conducting.

Adam has an infectious enthusiasm about teaching, and over the years he has taken on students from a wide range of ages and groups and helped them to reach their goals- from playing their first note to getting into university. His lessons are personalised and student focused, and he adapts his process on a case-by-case basis using his breadth of knowledge and experience regarding multiple instruments, technology, production, industry and theory.
