Marc Nordhausen

Hi, I'm Marc!
 

I started playing the drums in early childhood, spending a decade learning from three teachers that shaped my foundation. My lifelong passion led me to study a Bachelor of Arts in Drum Performance in Berlin, and I recently completed my Master of Music here in London.

While my roots lie in heavier music such as Punk, Metal, Rock and Pop, I'm a firm believer in versatility and thus I've been diving into all other major genres, such as Latin, Jazz, Funk, Prog, Country, R&B, Hip-Hop etc. Whatever your style is, we can explore it!

 

My Teaching Philosophy 
 

As an experienced educator, I tailor my lessons entirely to you. I focus on helping you to naturally build a solid technique, music theory knowledge and a great practice routine, all while having fun playing the music you actually love! Watching my students' enthusiasm for the instrument form when they start seeing improvement and become confident while playing along to their favourite artists is the most rewarding part about teaching! 

I teach students of all ages and skill levels, and am experienced in teaching for graded exams such as Rockschool and Trinity. 

 

Where We Can Practice
 

I am available for home visits, lessons at an acoustic drum kit in Hackney Central, lessons at my own home and electronic kit in Barking (East London), or online lessons!
