MICHEL BARROS BESSONE

Self-taught musician from a young age, he began their musical journey with the flute, followed by the guitar and piano.

 

Formal studies commenced at the School of Music of the University of Concepción in Chile. Subsequently, training was refined through the study of popular and folk
music composition at the SCD School of Music in Santiago, Chile, and classical composition at the conservatories of Bologna and Venice in Italy, as well as the Moscow Conservatory in Russia and a
Master's degree in Film and TV Composition at the London College of Music.
 

 

Michel has also undertaken extensive coursework in electroacoustic composition, traditional Indian music, and Gregorian chant.


For nearly two decades, a passionate dedication to researching the field of ethnic music from diverse global cultures has seen involvement in seminars, festivals, and specialized meetings.

 

As a composer, he has contributed to theater, dance, children's television programs, short films, and other multimedia projects, primarily in the United States, Italy and the United Kingdom.


With nearly 2 decades of experience, Michel has delivered comprehensive guitar, charango, and music theory lessons to a wide spectrum of ages and backgrounds.

 

He is committed to fostering a supportive and motivating learning environment, with a particular focus on helping each student achieve their personal musical goals.

 

His inclusive approach has seen him successfully provide instruction to individuals with physical and mental disabilities. His dedication has seen numerous students go on to become professional musicians and performers.


A versatile career has encompassed roles as both composer and performer across a spectrum of musical genres, including classical, rock, pop, folk, and experimental music.

 

Notably, as a charango player, a unique and personal style has been developed, leading to performances on stages worldwide, spanning countries such as Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, United Kingdom, Ireland, Greece, Czech Republic, Norway, Austria, Bulgaria, Morocco, Chile and Argentina.


Michel's musical output primarily comprises compositions for guitar and piano, alongside folk, rock, and pop songs, chamber and orchestral music, and electroacoustic works.
